Have you ever visited the Noardlike Fryske Wâlden? A beautiful, green area that radiates peace and space, where Frisian hospitality and down-to-earthness are simply part of the experience. Whether you’re travelling for work or leisure, you are always welcome here. You have your own entrance and can check in whenever you like. From our location, you can cycle and walk along the characteristic alder tree rows of the Wâlden. Our garden borders the meadows managed by Staatsbosbeheer and offers wide, open views. With a bit of luck, you may even spot deer passing by. And our breakfast service? It’s wonderfully extensive, with delicious regional products.

Located along the N358, our accommodation is the ideal place to stay. From here, you can reach Lauwersoog (ferry to Schiermonnikoog), the harbour of Holwerd (ferry to Ameland), our capital city Leeuwarden, the city of Groningen, or the nature area of the National Park De Âlde Feanen in Earnewâld within half an hour.

You can stay in the Garden Room all year round. The Pipowagen can be booked from june through August. Check-in is from 3:00 PM, and check-out is until 11:00 AM. The room rate for the Garden Room (Tuinkamer) is €95 per night based on 2 guests. A third guest is charged €20 per night, and a fourth guest €15 per night. This also applies to children aged 3 and over. Maximum occupancy: 4 guests.

The room rate for the Gypsy Wagon (Pipowagen) is €75 per night based on 2 guests.

For stays of at least 3 nights, a 5% discount applies to the room rate. For stays of at least 5 nights, a 10% discount applies to the room rate.

Children up to and including 2 years of age stay free of charge. A baby travel cot is available on request. The fee is €10 including bed linen.

Breakfast is optional and costs €15 per person per night.

The tourist tax in the municipality of Achtkarspelen is €1.55 per person per night and is charged in addition to the room rate.

For returning business guests, we offer a 10% discount on the room rate of the Garden Room excluding breakfast. This offer is valid Monday through Thursday for direct bookings via our website or by phone/app (06-22857461). Flexible check-in and check-out times are available.

Cancellation policy:
Up to 5 days before arrival, cancellations are free of charge with a full refund. For cancellations within 5 days of arrival, the full booking amount will be charged.

Pets are not allowed.

Augustinusga is a village in the Northern Frisian Woodlands (Noardlike Fryske Wâlden), known for its many cycling and walking routes, as well as for the wide range of local culinary products available in the area. Well-known walking routes include the Slach om ’e Toer (Surhuizum), the Swaddekuier (Buitenpost), the Abel Tasman Struuntocht (Lutjegast) and the recently organised food walks starting from various locations. For cycling, you can easily follow the cycling junction network, with clear signposting at every junction.

Walking and Cycling Routes in the Area

Nearby you will also find a vineyard (Twijzel), the botanical garden De Kruidhof (Buitenpost), the Ot and Sien Museum (Surhuisterveen), the Barefoot Path (Opende) and the open-air museum De Spitkeet (Harkema). At the latter, you can see how people lived here between 1850 and 1950.

For a day trip to the islands, you can reach Lauwersoog or Holwerd in about half an hour by car, where ferries depart to Schiermonnikoog or Ameland. The cities of Leeuwarden, Groningen and Dokkum are also approximately a 30-minute drive away. Closer by are Surhuisterveen and Drachten, both offering attractive shopping centres. There is a wide choice of restaurants in the surrounding area.
